Planning appeal submitted 

Cala Homes (West) continues to promote the delivery of the land at Kirkton Farm in Cardross that is allocated for housing development by Argyll and Bute Council.

Cala is still committed to building 118 much needed homes, ranging from one-bedroom cottage flats to five-bedroom family homes, which includes 25% for Dunbritton Housing Association, at the site on the northern edge of the town between Darleith Road and Barrs Road. 

The new development, Darleigh Meadows, will provide dedicated on-site parking for homeowners and guests, as well as generous provision of high quality landscaping and open space - including a village green and play park. The landscaping and green spaces on the site will help to improve local biodiversity for residents and the wider community to enjoy.

Cala is committed to creating sustainable developments that serve the needs of homebuyers and provide local benefit through employment, council tax contributions and economic value.

Ongoing Updates - January 2025

We currently have one live planning application to update a drawing reference within planning condition 4 of the granted Planning Permission in Principle, which relates to the improvements of Darleith Road.  This change should be made in the early part of 2025.

Following the refusal of our application to approve matters specified in condition (AMSC) by Argyll and Bute Planning Committee in October 2024, Cala have submitted a planning appeal to the Scottish Government Planning and Environmental Appeal Division (DPEA) to re-consider the decision.  

It is hoped the appeal will be determined in the first half of 2025, which would allow works to commence in Autumn and first residents welcomed in early 2027.
