See below what we have supported with in the local community...
Stay Safe, Stay Away offers primary schools an interactive session covering the history of building houses as well as the variety of fantastic and varied career opportunities within the industry, as well educating pupils about the dangers of going into construction areas unsupervised.
We gave a £1,500 donation to Chelmsford City Youth FCs under-seven and eight team to help them bounce back after a pandemic disruption. This donation has allowed the team to purchase smart new kits, complete with the Cala logo, helping the team look and feel professional in training and on match days.
Land To Life is a curriculum-based schools project aimed at 7-11 year olds. The comprehensive suite of teachers’ notes and detailed lesson plans aims to educate children on how new communities are created, from land acquisition through to sales and marketing.
The project provides free care packs called Butterfly Bags, which contain treats and useful items, which are ideal for taking into hospital for surgery. They are also given to patients, who continue to receive further hospital treatment, or just as ‘pick me up’ during those difficult days following diagnosis and treatment. Cala donated £250 towards the provision of Butterfly Bags and Surgery Comfort Cushions.
Emmaus Colchester is a dedicated homelessness charity that uses sales from its donations to support its companions and provide home and work opportunities as part of its social enterprise to help them regain stability. Our Beaulieu development donated approx. £7k worth of furniture to support their cause
We donated £1,500 towards the sponsorship of the Chelmsford Titans Cricket kit. This has allowed the fairly new formed club to purchase smart new kits, complete with the Cala logo, helping the team look and feel professional in training and on match days.
We donated £1,500 towards the 'Kids Who Lunch Club' and also provided a total of 120 hours volunteering across two days with 10 volunteers from Cala NHC participating. 'Kids Inspire' is a charity that supports children and young people aged 5-15 across Essex who are at an educational, social and/or economic disadvantage; often resulting from shock/developmental trauma or emerging mental health issues. Kids Inspire creates bespoke packages of support tailored to individual needs, comprising of specialist individual/family therapy, mentoring, coaching and group support.
We donated £500 towards the Beaulieu Social Group to host the Diwali Fair 2024 for local residents to come together as a community and celebrate the festive season. The event had a live DJ, Indian Drum, cultural and Bollywood dance performances for entertaining the crowd. There were various food stalls to buy festive food and a mini market selling traditional dresses and a Heena counter, along with a bouncy castle and art/crafts for kids to enjoy.
